I'm starting a new monthly video series called The Crafty Chat. Each month I sit down and craft with a friend as we chat about life. The Crafty Chat was inspired the love of connecting through craft and friendship. As makers we can often feel siloed because we make on our own. By bringing friends together over craft we can connect and share.
In this first episode my friend Sara Barnes of Bear and Bean came over for a craft session. Sara is an illustrator and embroidery artists who specializes in pet portraits. You can shop Sara's hand embroidery kits, stick and stitch patterns, and have you stitch a custom pet portrait for you at BearandBean.shop
During our crafty hangout Sara and I chatted about the hand embroidery projects we were working on. Mine was a prototype for a new beginner cyanotype inspired embroidery kit and Sara stitched a sloth. We also chatted about our holiday plans, gift giving, holiday markets, ways to stay healthy, books we've been reading, craft supplies we love, craft workshops and more.
