Spanish Garden is my new intermediate embroidery kit! It combines embroider and applique, along with 10 different embroidery stitches to create a fun Spanish inspired garden scene.
I originally thought of this design while visiting San Francisco last November. As I walked along the neighborhood beach path near Fort Mason, I saw so many gorgeous desert inspired gardens. I'm sure some of the neighbors thought I was a little strange taking so many photos of plants! Even though I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted to use them yet, I kept them for reference on my phone.
Then, earlier this year, my husband and I took a trip to Tulum. After our visit, I knew that the beautifully colorful houses and stucco architecture I saw in Mexico would be the perfect compliment to this plant scene. Thus Spanish Gardens was born.
The Spanish Garden kit was designed with intermediate stitchers in mind. Each kit includes blue, peach, and cream cotton fabric, a 5 inch beechwood embroidery hoop, a water soluble transfer design, full skeins of DMC embroidery floss, a needle, sewing pins, felt, a sawtooth hanger hook, photo directions on how to transfer and stitch the pattern, a color guide, and recommended stitches, as well as directions on how to finish hoop back for display.
