1. Wire wrapping covers wires used in stumpwork embroidery. There are a few ways to start this stitch, depending on if your wire is attached to an embroidery or on its own. When covering a wire not attached to anything, start by running the thread through a glue stick.
2. Then lay the thread flush with the wire about ½ inch away from the end. The thread end and wire end should be opposite one another.
3. At the end of the wire, start tightly wrapping the wire over the laid thread and the wire. This will cover the thread end.
4. Wrap until the wire is completely covered. At the end of the wire, run the thread through the glue stick and continue to wrap around the wire. This will ensure the thread sticks.
