The ribbed spider web stitch is another woven stitch that creates a circle of raised lines on the front of the fabric. It's a fun way to fill in flowers, shells, and other circular shapes. Use this DIY video and step-by-step tutorial to learn how to embroider the ribbed spider web stitch.

Ribbed Spider Web Stitch Step-by-Step Tutorial


1. The ribbed spider web stitch is another woven stitch that creates a circle of raised lines on the front of the fabric. Start by making an odd number of straight stitches that start at the outer edge of the circle and end in the center point.



2. Next, bring the needle up near the center point in between two of the straight stitches.

3. Now slide the needle underneath the closest straight stitch. Gently pull the thread underneath.

4. Lay the thread across the straight stitch that needle slide under, then slide the needle underneath it and the next straight stitch, so that the working thread wraps around the straight stitch.



5. Repeat this all the way around the circle until it is filled in. End the stitch by bringing the needle down through the fabric as you wrap around the last straight stitch.
