Ermine Star Stitch
The Ermine star or star stitch creates a 6-prong star. It uses the straight stitch to overlap and create a star design. Use this DIY video and step-by-step tutorial to learn how to embroider the Ermine star stitch.

Ermine Star Stitch Step-by-Step Tutorial
1. Start by making a straight stitch. This will be the center line of the star.

2. Next, bring the needle up to the right of the top of the straight stitch, this will be the top of the right crosse stitch. Bring the needle down in the bottom left corner of the star, crossing over the straight stitch.
3. Then repeat on the left. Bring the needle up at the left of the straight stitch, then back down in the bottom right of the star stitch, crossing over the straight stitch. This creates one star.
