Whether you've never embroidered before or are looking for ways to advance your skills, there are plenty of online workshop opportunities to get your craft on. Check out all of the live workshop options available this March and join in the crafting fun!
March 5: Learn to Draw with Thread from 5-7pm PST with Jenny Lemons
Have you ever wanted to create fiber art or to customize your clothing and linens? In this beginning embroidery workshop, you will learn classic and experimental hand sewing techniques to create drawings in thread. We will learn how to successfully sew several different embroidery stitches that will create unique surfaces, lines, and textures. The class will begin with introductions and check-in about everyone's skill level. We will start at the very beginning with how to select appropriate fabric for embroidery, how to thread a needle, how to split threads, and how to stretch your fabric on a hoop. We will learn 6 embroidery stitches including: running stitch, backstitch, whipped backstitch, chain stitch, satin stitch, and French knot. Register by February 26th to receive your workshop kit in the mail or sign up the day of to supply your own materials for class.
March 6: Mountainscapes Landscape Embroidery Workshop from 11am-1pm PST with Monster
From the mountains to the desert, adventure is calling! Learn to embroider a whimsical mountainscape landscape in an online embroidery basics workshop. This two-hour, hands-on workshop covers 5 beginner-friendly embroidery stitches, an easy design transfer method, and tips and tricks to make embroidery easy and fun. Each attendee will receive a full workshop kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, transfer design, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a peach fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. This class takes place over Zoom on 3/6 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Register by February 27th to have your kit mailed to you.
March 10: WIP Wednesday Craft Night from 6-8pm PST
Let's stitch, bitch, and finish our WIPs! We all have WIPs (works in progress) lying around, so let's work on finishing (or getting closer to finishing one.) In this 2-hour free form class, we'll chat and you can ask all the questions you want. Whether you want to learn specific stitches or have questions about your embroidery project, I'm here to share my knowledge. This workshop will be held via Zoom on March 10 from 6-8pm. Register online and and a Zoom link will be emailed to you the week of the online workshop.
March 11: Stitch Your Own Landscape Pin from 7-9pm PST with Needles Studio
Join us for an evening of fun and creativity. In this hands-on class you'll learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered pin. Attendees will create a stitched desert landscape to create your own piece of wearable art. Melissa will share her hand embroidery expertise, tips, and tricks to help you create your own uniquely designed pin. All materials (including a surprise pin shape) will be provided and a kit will be sent straight to your door. You will join the class via Zoom and get creative from the comfort of your own home! Register by March 4th to have your kit mailed to you.
March 13: Mindful Mending from 11am-1pm PST with Wyldwood Creative
Breathe new life into your favorite well worn clothing through mending. Join us in learning how to mend a hole and reinforce areas of clothing. This class is great if you want to mend holes in the knees of your jeans, want to add some reinforcement to the thigh area of your pants, if your little one's pants could use a patch, and so much more. We'll use two techniques to patch a hole and you'll learn how to reinforce worn fabric. This virtual workshop will take place on Zoom and includes a mending kit featuring: a tapestry needle, long sewing pins, a thimble, marking tool, sashiko thread, and fabric to use as a patch. Upon registration a kit will be mailed to you (or available for pick up at Wyldwood Creative). Please let us know your address, thread color preferences, and thimble size in the "notes" section at check out. Class will be held via zoom on March 13th from 11am - 1pm PST. The class will be recorded and sent out to students after incase you miss it. Please register by March 6th if you'll need your kit shipped to ensure delivery before class.
March 16: Blooming Wildflowers from 6-8:30pm PST with Monster
Let’s create whimsical wildflowers! Learn to embroider a playful bunch of wildflowers in this online embroidery workshop. This two and a half hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, transfer design, sewing pins, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a cream cotton fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. March 18: PNW Landscape Pendant from 6:30-8:30pm PST with Spacecraft
Take the mountains with you wherever you go! Learn to embroider a miniature Pacific Northwest inspired mountain pendant in this online embroidery basics workshop. This two hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, pre-printed fabric, an oval pendant setting, and printed instructions. Pre-registration is required by 3/11 and a recording of the workshop will be available after class. Class will be held via Zoom on Thursday, March 18th from 6:30-8:30pm PT. Please register by March 11th to join in the stitching fun.
March 20: Embroidered Lettering from 11am-1pm PST with Jenny Lemons
Want to add a cute phrase or snarky saying to your embroidery? Join us for a two-hour, hands-on virtual workshop. We'll cover 5 different beginner-friendly embroidery stitches that are great for stitching lettering, along with tips and tricks to stitch your favorite phrases. Choose from two booking options: supply your own materials or purchase an embroidery kit from us that includes: a wooden embroidery hoop, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, surprise cotton fabric, and transfer pen. March 21: Cactus Embroidery Basics from 11am-1:30pm PST with Monster
Calling all cactus lovers! Learn to embroider cacti in this online embroidery basics workshop. This two and a half hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, cactus transfer designs, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise pattern fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. This class will take place over Zoom on March 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. PST.
